Mira Vista Enrichment
After School Program:
The Mira Vista Elementary Enrichment Program is a free
program open to all Mira Vista Students grades K-6. Note: All
Kindergarten students must be picked up at their release
time and dropped back off at the program at 2:20 pm
(1:45 on Wednesdays). This Enrichment Program was created to give
students extended academic help. Students are trained on how to
improve their academic as well as social skills. It is our goal
that each student has an experience that is both educational and
enjoyable in a safe environment.
Program Hours and Classes: The After School Program
operates Monday- Friday from school dismissal time to 5:20 pm
and closes at 5pm on Wednesdays. We are open during the academic
school year only. We offer the following classes: Homework and
Tutoring, Computer Lab, Sports, Cooking, Arts & Crafts, Dance,
Math, Leap Frog Activity Room, and Language Arts. The Program
is free!
Requirements/ Policies: Parents must fill out
and complete an application for their child/ children. Parents
will be notified upon acceptance. Your child must be present at
least 4 days each week. Parents are asked to used the lower parking
lot for pick up and drop off for students. The Enrichment Program
charges $1 per minute if your child/children remains at the program
after 6:00pm. The program will not tolerate students who
choose to misbehave. If your child receives 4 behavior slips
they will be removed from the program. Parents will be notified
each time a slip is sent home by phone, or a parent/teacher conference.
Help: Parents are asked to contribute to the
program by volunteering, submitting $5/ per month cooking class
payments, also snack and school supply donations are
appreciated.
