Personal:
This is my 10th year at Mira Vista. I like Mira Vista’s multicultural
student and teaching body. Especially I enjoy the enrichment my
ESL students bring into my life when they share their cultural backgrounds.
I enjoy the absence of racial conflicts at Mira Vista. We are working
hard to get along and it pays off.
I love being mom to my two sons, 8 and 12 years old. Being a single
mom gives me insight into special problems of one parent families.
My children love to learn and to play soccer. We are an adventurous
family. We hike, bike, camp, travel, swim and play together.

My Educational Philosophy:
My goal is to set children on fire for learning, to nourish and
foster that love of learning and to lay a solid foundation for lifelong
literacy. Children learn in many modes, in different ways and at
different speeds.
They develop their abilities best when taught in an individualized
way, but in a social group. Learning is always a social and academic
learning, music and arts are essential parts the meaningful learning.
I look at the whole child when I’m teaching and at my groups
as a group of learners. I believe that all of us look for meaningful
“whole” when we are learning (Gestalt.)
It is my professional goal to provide meaningful structured content
with lots of scaffolding for individualized entries from different
places, and with stepladders to go on without waiting until the
last student is there too.
